• Cuphophyllus
pratensis - Meadow Waxcap

These fetching coloured fungi are found adorning grasslands late autumn and early winter, and can get quite big!

• Gliophorus
psittacinus - Parrot Waxcap

One of my absolute favourite mushrooms to find. They look like they're made of fruit-flavoured jelly! I love the way the colours shift from green, through yellow to blue and even pink!

• Hygrocybe
chlorophana - Golden Waxcap

These bright-yellow waxcaps can be found brightening up many a lawn come November.

coccinea - Scarlet Waxcap

What amazing colours! Very hard to miss.

conica - Blackening Waxcap

These are commonly called Witch's Hats, and you can see why! Vary variable in shape and colour, and extremely cool.

russocoriacea - Cedar Waxcap

These delicate waxcaps have an obvious tell - when damaged they have a very pungent cedar-wood like smell.

virginea - Snowy Waxcap

Perfect white, peculiarly shaped and turn up everywhere in the late autumn.

• Porpolomopsis
calyptriformis - Pink Waxcap

Very pretty, very delicate, and uncommon! I am very lucky to have a gregarious spot nearby.
